New IACUC Application Form & Instruction

Reporting Animal Welfare Concerns or Protocol Noncompliance

The UNC Charlotte’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is responsible for ensuring the protection and care of vertebrate animals used in research studies at UNC Charlotte. The IACUC, working in conjunction with the Office of Research Compliance, must ensure that animal research is conducted according to long-standing ethical principles and federal, state and university regulations.

In addition to Animal Care and Use guidelines and regulatory information, this site provides access to tools needed to successfully prepare and submit your protocol applications. On this website, you will find:  access to the on-line IACUC Protocol Application system (ACAP); IACUC meeting dates and deadlines; protocol and amendment review processes; IACUC guidelines and SOPs; links to federal regulations and to other helpful sites.

We encourage you to contact the Office of Research Compliance early in the process of completing your protocol application.

If you have questions, contact
Cindy Stone , IACUC Coordinator (704-687-1872) or
