New IACUC Application Form & Instruction

The UNC Charlotte’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is responsible for ensuring the protection and care of vertebrate animals used in research studies at UNC Charlotte. The IACUC, working in conjunction with the Office of Research Compliance, must ensure that animal research is conducted according to long-standing ethical principles and federal, state and university regulations.

In addition to Animal Care and Use guidelines and regulatory information, this site provides access to tools needed to successfully prepare and submit your protocol applications.

On this website, you will find: application submission guidelines; the on-line IACUC Protocol Application system (ACAP); IACUC meeting dates and deadlines; considerations of alternatives to procedures that may cause more than slight or momentary pain or distress; research involving biohazardous agents and recombinant DNA; federal regulations; and links to other helpful sites.

We encourage you to contact the Office of Research Compliance early in the process of completing your protocol application.

If you have questions, contact
Cindy Stone , IACUC Coordinator (704-687-2557) or
